Getting our Footing

Lisa and I are learning every day.

As for me, I'm not very tech savvy.

When we decided to start a website, I thought,

" how hard could that be? " Well, its pretty hard for someone who hasn't used a computer

much. The learning curve that I've undertaken, is taking its toll on me!

It took a novice, like me, several hours to set this website up, and I'm still trying to learn how this all works.

I have never been one to shy away from a challenge and boy, do I have one!

Over the years, I've written a few songs, but never really sat down and learned how the structure of a song is done.

I have been influenced by several different genres of music. From 60's and 70's country,

like Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Buck Owens, to Rock music.

Bands like, Boston, Foreigner, Journey, Kansas, and The Eagles in the early 80's , just to name a few.

As the 90's rolled around, country music groups like, Diamond Rio, Little Texas, Black Hawk, Rascal Flatts and so many others. So, as you can see, I have a wide variety of music

to draw from.

When it comes to music production, there are several steps taken to getting a song together.

It takes several hours of work to go from an idea, to the finished product, (most songs are never really finished. There is always something you think you could have done better.)

I love the creativity. There is some sense of accomplishment to take words on a piece of paper and bring them to life.

The arrangement.

Create a melody.

Record the music.

Mix down the tracks and balance them.

Then, Master the tracks to produce a song.

It takes several hours and days to get this all accomplished.

It takes someone with great passion.

I've always heard of people who really "love" their jobs.

I never, ever, loved any job I've had. Until now!

This is not like work to me. It's passion.

I didn't realize what I had missed all of these years. If I could turn back the clock, I would have done this years a go!

Just know that I'm working very hard to get these songs together to hopefully minister to hurting people. We all have troubles and trials in our life, and I'm no exception.

If these songs we write help just one person to come to the knowledge that Jesus our Lord cares for them, it will be all worth it!

This entry is for you to see our motive for doing this. The Lord has impressed on us to get busy, and that's what we will do!

Until later.....
